Two Nice men with far-right links jailed after string of violent attacks in the city

Two young men with far-right links have been jailed after a string of violent attacks in Nice, with sentences of 18 months handed down by a Nice court.

Two young men linked to far-right networks have been sentenced to 18 months in prison following a series of violent attacks committed in Nice in February and March 2026.

Marvin M. and Paul P. were convicted on Friday July 3 by a Nice court of multiple counts of violence. Marvin M. received 18 months with nine months suspended, and Paul P. received 18 months with six months suspended. Both had been involved in violent incidents on February 1 and March 23, 2026.

The case adds to a pattern of far-right related violence that has come before the courts in the Alpes-Maritimes in recent months. Nice, as the home city of former interior minister Eric Ciotti and a stronghold of the right in French politics, has seen rising tensions between political factions in recent years.
