The city of Nice has opened a new exhibition dedicated to the memory of the July 14, 2016 attack, as the city prepares to mark the tenth anniversary of the tragedy in which 86 people were killed on the Promenade des Anglais.
The exhibition, which opened at the Villa Masséna on Friday, July 3 and runs until Monday, July 27, traces the events of that night and the decade that followed through archives, photographs, personal objects, testimonies and previously unpublished documents. It covers the tribute paid to victims, the outpouring of public solidarity, the response of rescue services and associations, and the artistic and civic responses that shaped a shared memory.
The Villa Masséna, one of Nice's most beautiful historic buildings on the Promenade des Anglais, is open to visitors from 10am to 6pm daily except Tuesdays. Entry is free.
The tenth anniversary commemorations, which include a drone show and concert on July 14 itself, are expected to draw large numbers of survivors, families of victims and residents to the Promenade des Anglais.
