The city of Nice has published the official programme of commemorations marking the tenth anniversary of the July 14, 2016 attack, in which a lorry driven into crowds on the Promenade des Anglais killed 86 people and injured 458.
The programme, published on Wednesday, July 1 by the city, includes a drone show and a concert among the planned events. The anniversary falls on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
The attack, carried out during the city's traditional Bastille Day fireworks display, remains the deadliest terrorist incident on French soil since the November 2015 Paris attacks. The driver steered a 19-tonne lorry into the crowds gathered along the seafront, travelling more than two kilometres before being shot and killed by police. Among the 86 dead were people of more than 30 nationalities.
Survivors, families of victims and local associations are expected to gather for the commemorations along the Promenade des Anglais where the attack occurred. The tenth anniversary carries particular weight for the city, which has spent a decade navigating grief, legal proceedings and questions about the security failures that allowed the attack to happen.
Further details on the full programme are expected to be confirmed by the city in the coming days.
