Monaco Bombing Twist: CCTV Reportedly Points to Female Suspect

Investigators in the Monaco bombing case are now reportedly working on the theory that the main suspect may be a woman of Ukrainian origin, marking a major new turn in the attempted murder investigation.

The reported development follows further analysis of CCTV footage and witness statements, which are understood to have led investigators to reassess the original suspect profile. Earlier descriptions had suggested the person seen near the scene was male.

French media reports now suggest the suspect may be a woman in her thirties, who was allegedly filmed by surveillance cameras shortly before the explosion. She is understood to have been seen near a small square above the residence before the device detonated.

The attack took place on Monday evening outside the Sun’s Palace apartment building on Rue Révérend Père Louis Frolla, when an explosive device detonated near the entrance of the residence.

Three people were injured in the blast, including Ukrainian-born businessman Vadim Ermolaev, a woman, and a 13-year-old boy.

The suspect is believed to have left a booby-trapped package outside the building before fleeing the area. Investigators have since been reconstructing the suspect’s movements in the minutes before and after the explosion.

While earlier information suggested the suspect fled on foot towards France, newer reports indicate investigators are also looking at the possibility that the suspect may have continued towards Italy. The possibility of outside assistance is also reportedly being examined.

Blue Coast News has not independently verified the suspect’s identity, and no official image or name has been released by Monaco’s prosecutor’s office.

Monaco’s prosecutor has previously confirmed that the case is being treated as attempted murder, not terrorism. No arrest has been officially announced, and the motive remains unclear.

The investigation remains active, with Monaco and French authorities working together across the border as police continue to search for the person responsible.

Blue Coast News will continue to follow this developing story.
