German police searched the rented apartment and vehicle of Anastasiia Berezovska in the Main-Taunus district of Hesse on Thursday. Evidence has been secured and will be handed to Monegasque authorities.
Berezovska, 39, is wanted by Interpol in connection with the June 29 bombing in Monaco that seriously injured Vadim Ermolaev, his partner Anna Nasobina and their 13-year-old son.
Her escape route has been fully traced. After fleeing on foot into France, she drove to Italy in a German-registered rented car before travelling through several European countries to Germany, where she was last known to be living.
Monaco's deputy prosecutor Morgan Raymond said at a press conference on Friday that the sophistication of the device and the method of the attack suggest she did not act alone. Two men previously detained in Monaco were released after the investigation found no evidence of their active involvement.
Investigators placed Berezovska at the scene shortly before the attack, seated on a bench at Place des Moulins as the victims returned on foot from dinner at a seaside restaurant. She was initially described as a heavily built man. A wider review of CCTV footage and witness testimony led investigators to conclude she had disguised herself as a man throughout the operation, including on days when she had scouted the location beforehand.
The Interpol Red Notice describes her as having dark hair, speaking German, and carrying a tattoo, possibly of a snake, running down her right arm from shoulder to elbow.
Berezovska remains at large. The motive for the attack has not been confirmed.
