A suspect, just turned 18, was placed in police custody on Thursday over the stabbing of a 17 year old in a Nice-Est car park earlier this month, five days after the attack that left the teenager fighting for his life, according to Nice-Matin.
The attack took place on Sunday, July 12 at around 3pm on rue du Docteur-Ardouin, where the victim was found with serious knife wounds. His condition was critical enough at the time of evacuation that his life was considered at risk. Nice's public prosecutor's office opened an investigation for attempted voluntary homicide, handing the case to the local judicial police service, who carried out initial forensic work at the scene the same day.
The suspect is expected to appear before a judge on Friday. The circumstances of the attack, including any relationship between the two, have not yet been made public, and no motive has been confirmed.
