Nice's Pink Parade returns on Saturday, with organisers setting the tone under the slogan "le futur sera Queer," or "the future will be queer." The march sets off at 3.30pm from the Quai Papacino at the Port of Nice, winding through the city to the Théâtre de Verdure on the Promenade des Anglais, where a free Pink Party with DJ sets, drag performances and a community village runs from 6pm into the evening.
Organisers said this year's edition looks beyond the present moment: "It's no longer just about defending who we are today, it's also about claiming the place we'll occupy tomorrow." The city has confirmed parking and traffic restrictions across the route for the day, with the Voie Mathis remaining open only between 11.30pm and 5.30am.
The Nice event has drawn large crowds every summer since 2004, and remains one of the largest Pride gatherings on the French Riviera outside Marseille.
