A fire broke out at a workshop on chemin du Val de Cagnes in Cagnes-sur-Mer on Tuesday morning, prompting a response from around fifty Alpes-Maritimes firefighters.
Crews arrived shortly after 7am to find roughly 200 square metres of the workshop, part of a larger 1,500 square metre building, fully engulfed in flames, with a heavy smoke plume visible for kilometres around. Firefighters deployed two hoses to bring the blaze under control and protect neighbouring structures, with an early assessment identifying a risk of the fire spreading to an adjacent workshop.
The town hall confirmed the flames did not spread to surrounding vegetation. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire remains unclear.
