Chris Isaak plays Cannes' Grand Auditorium on July 17, bringing four decades of rockabilly revival and torch ballads to the Palais des Festivals as part of his Live On Tour Europe run, according to ICI Azur.
The 69 year old, still touring with his long-serving band Silvertone, built his name on Wicked Game, the 1989 hit that became inescapable after its use in David Lynch's Wild at Heart and has since been covered everywhere from talent shows to a duet with Lana Del Rey. His catalogue beyond that single hit spans thirteen studio albums and twelve chart-topping singles, alongside a parallel career scoring films including Eyes Wide Shut and True Romance, and hosting his own Showtime series, The Chris Isaak Show. The Americana Music Honors gave him a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022.
French singer Mathilda opens the show, which begins at 8.30pm with seated, numbered tickets across four pricing tiers. The date sits in the middle of a packed Cannes concert season at the Palais, which also hosts Stephan Eicher on July 24 and the British group Archive on July 29, while the Festival d'Art Pyrotechnique runs concurrently in the bay through August 24.
