Around thirty caregivers and staff from Antibes' Centre Hospitalier gathered outside the hospital's entrance on Tuesday at the call of the CGT union, denouncing what they described as degraded working conditions and a lack of dialogue with hospital management.
Séverine, an operating theatre care assistant who joined the rally in her white coat, said the schedules had become difficult to sustain, particularly after returning from a long illness. "It's very hard for me physically to keep up," she said, describing repeated refusals of her requests to change post. Other staff spoke anonymously of work overload, exhaustion and burnout.
Hospital management disputed the characterisation, saying in a statement that it holds regular monthly meetings with the union and remains committed to "sincere, rigorous dialogue built on trust," alongside respect for union rights and the proper functioning of staff representative bodies.
