Monday marks the seventh consecutive day the Alpes-Maritimes préfecture has classified fire risk as severe since July 17, according to Nice Premium, an unusually long stretch of heightened danger even by the standards of a hot Riviera summer.
The Estérel-Tanneron massif remains under the highest risk classification, with access, movement and any outdoor work banned across the zone for the full day. The rest of the department sits at low to moderate risk and faces no additional restrictions for now.
Authorities continue to stress that prevention depends largely on individual behaviour, reminding residents that no fires should be lit near wooded areas under any circumstances while the alert remains in place.
